Personal Brand Goal
My goal for this project was to create my own personal brand. I have a mind to solve problems that I face by using creativity and expressing myself when it comes to how I want to be seen. I had to create my own logo and other necessities to start my very own brand that would express my work and who I am to the world. Knowing what I wanted my personal identity to be, I had to come up with designs of what I would want to be remembered as.
Beginning the Sketches
My sketches were all over the place when I first started. I didn’t have a set idea on what I wanted in my own logo besides my initials. I began having ideas to use a pencil in the logo with one design and started branching off from there. It began to give me more ideas for what I want to and I went to experiment with what I enjoyed creating.
My Brand design
As I had almost completed my logo, I came to a different conclusion about my logo. The one I use made me seem like an Illustrator more than a designer which isn’t how I wanted to appear. As I developed another logo that doesn’t make it seem like I am an Illustrator, I began to miss this current logo and how much it expressed me more. Ideas that I had gotten to make the second logo were good, but I believed that it wouldn’t express me as much as this one does currently.
Here were some of the logos I created when debating on changing logos. None of these seemed to really say what I do. These were good ideas that were given to me, but it didn’t feel like it would portray who I was and what I do as a brand.
Conclusion
I learned a lot about this and making a brand and a logo from the bottom up. It takes a lot of time to think about how you would want to be known when it comes to this. Sometimes you begin to think that you don’t want to be known as one thing but really like the concept of it.
